OK, ok I should be proofing client sessions (sorry to those still waiting patiently), but I HAD to take a break and document my kids on Halloween...they were to-die-for cute this year, if I do say so myself :). I have the pictures to prove it (of course I do ;) )
Guess who the Moo went as:
That's right...Dorothy, and she picked that out herself!
Check out the braids
And the dude? We were going to force him to go as the Cowardly Lion, but Dude has been sporting some serious personality these days and has taken quite the liking to...
Buzz .... Light Year that is!
What can I say, the kid likes to be a "Super Hero" and "Shoot off his lasers" and most importantly he likes to fly and yell "to n n n n ninfinity and yeond!" translation: To infinity and beyond!. You know I didn't teach him that! How can you take that away from a little dude and force him to be a lion? So my kids got to be what they wanted to be, and didn't have to fit into any kind of theme this year...novel idea, I know! Guess what? They had a BLAST! I might get crazy and allow this to happen every year!...maybe, but there are already talks about being Woody and Jessie next year (Toy Story 2)...we'll see! For now I will let you have a peek into our lives on Halloween (which I think is their favorite day besides Christmas)...Yup, here come more pictures...
The long road ahead:
To Infinity and Beyond:
She's made it to Oz
Buzz Light Year to the rescue
We're off to see the Wizard
Sibling love
Practicing what it would be like to go Trick-or-treating together
They went to bed asking if they could do it again tomorrow...Aaah....pure happiness! Hope you had some happiness today too!

Family Session
Well, I think that I am officially trying to squeeze every last drop of color out of Fall this year. This past session was still full of color, even though the trees and most bushes were almost completely bare. I was thrilled to see my clients show up in black and cream. Those clothing choices allowed the color that was left to really shine through. The little girl is so stinkin' cute it actually hurt at times :). That headband had my heart pitter-pattering. Her outfit was so cute and different, that it inspired me to find a new processing technique. I think I really like it! I don't know what am going to call it. It has a very vintage feel, but also has a pink undertone to it making it a bit more feminine...any ideas for names are welcome. Thanks guys for such a wonderful and patient session. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
Ok, here's the new vintage finish...

Precious Newborn
I had the pleasure of working with this sweet little 3 weeker. She was just precious, and she had quite the audience! She was lucky enough to have her grandparents visiting her for the first time while I was there, which made for some beautiful portraits. You can see the love and excitement that they have for their 1st granddaughter. Even though this little angel wasn't fond of anything on her head, she did humor us for a few pictures with a sweet little headband. My favorite part of the session was just getting to experience all the love in the home. You could really just feel it (and sometimes see it, when a few tears of joy snuck out). What a blessing this little baby is to this family. Thank you for sharing her with me! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
That blanket used to belong to Grandpa...what a sweet heirloom.

Large Casual Family Session
I have been blessed lately with clients that are just troopers! The Colorado weather changes so fast. We have to be prepared for just about anything. Unlike my last session where the clients were sweating in their wool sweaters, this session my clients were doing whatever it took not to get blown away! It was a WINDY session, but we managed to find pockets and lulls and thankfully everyone was up for the challenge...even the kids! I was able to go back to a location that I haven't shot at in about 4 months, and it was nice for a change of pace. The barn not only served as a nice wind block, but was a great backdrop for this family. The session was nice and casual, and you will feel it in these pictures...you just want to join them, don't you? Thanks so much for such a great session, and for all your patience with the wind! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Feels Like Fall!
Or not! Don't let these cozy Fall looking portraits fool you. It was TOASTY that day. Add the wool sweaters and jackets, and these clients thought they were going to melt! These guys were a bunch of troopers walking around and posing while they tried not to die of the heat. However hot it was that morning, in the Fall clothing, it was worth it for some of that beautiful fall color that is just about gone...This session was full of golds and reds...Oh, and I would NEVER complain about the heat in October...I LOVE it! :) Thanks guys, for stomping around in Indian Summer temps in your Fall clothes all with a great attitudes and heaps of patience. I hope you like your sneak peek!
I love this...sneaking a peek at mom and dad!

Sweet Little Bundle
Here is one sweet little bundle of joy! This little cutie is 3 weeks old and as sweet as can be! She was awake for part of the session, so we got to see her beautiful little eyes, and then snuggled up with mom and snoozed away the rest of the session. She must have been having some very serious dreams though...check out that serious expression she had while she slept on mom's shoulder... :). I just love newborn sessions, and this one did not let me down! I had such a great time with mom (and dad for a short time) and little "Miss T" even if it wasn't the "cleanest" of sessions hehe...Thanks for sharing your sweetie! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Bundle Up!---Gorgeous Fall Session
This past weekend was PRIME for Fall colors. If the weather stays nice (no snow or heavy rain), and we stay clear of too much wind, next weekend will be just as gorgeous. This family session has such beautiful colors in it, many of the pictures look like postcards. Add to that the absolutely adorable baby girl in the most precious Fall outfit, and I must say that I feel like I am proofing an advertisement session for high-end children's clothing!
This family was so wonderful to work with. Besides being very well dressed, they were troopers. It wasn't the nicest day Colorado has ever had (in the low 50's to high 40's) and it was drizzling! You wouldn't know it by looking at the little one...she was very easy to work with and was quite content in the cool weather.
Thanks for such a great session, and for being such troopers in the cool damp weather...I hope you guys enjoy your preview!

Halloween Must be Around the Corner!
I am a native to Colorado. Been here all my years...never moved away. I will say though that this is the first time I have ever seen what I saw on my porch just a few days ago....yes, I know they live here (as well as almost anywhere), just never saw one outside of the zoo.
It was a beautiful day, and I was soaking up the late summer sun while the kids were napping. Missy Moo had woken up and came outside to ride her bike. I continued to soak up the sun on the front porch of my home which faces South so there is ample warmth. Little did I know that I was sharing my porch with a little critter.
Moo wanted something from inside so I turned to go in and get it when I noticed him. He was just a blob on the wall. I had to get just a bit closer before I realized what I was looking at...A BAT!!! Oh, I squealed like a stuck pig. I tried to compose myself before the Moo came over to see what was wrong with her grown mother. Apparently this little guy had gotten lost on his way back home and decided our porch would work well until he could find his way back (This is the story I am sticking with versus he was a rabid bloodsucking beast seeking us out in the night)...He did in fact leave that evening and thankfully hasn't been back. Moo thought it was pretty cool, and I did take some pictures. These were the only ones that didn't have blur from camera shake....hey, I was a bit scared!

Family Session...
I had the pleasure of having another family session this past weekend. Our original date had to be re-scheduled because of high winds, and our new date couldn't have been more perfect. Not a cloud in the sky and no wind! The kids were in great moods, and all were so cooperative. I have to admit I was kind of nervous to have so many kids in this session, but I was so pleasantly surprised! They all smiled and looked at the camera...on cue! This hasn't happened for me in a while, and I have to admit (again) that I just didn't know what to do with myself! Working so much with little ones, I am just used to having to earn their glances at the camera and smiles. This family was a wonderful surprise, and I left the session feeling pretty refreshed. Thanks guys for such a GREAT session. I hope you like your preview!
