The Relaxed Approach {Denver Family Photographer}

It was round two for this family. After their baby brother was born, Mr. "N" and Mr. "W" came for a visit in the studio. It was a hard session for the boys having a brand new brother AND having to sit still for pictures. BORING!

Take two was so fun and so relaxed it was a breeze to get some really great images of these two little guys for their second birthday. Mom and dad even got some great family shots. BONUS! Being outdoors just changes everything. The kids are having fun, Mom and Dad are relaxed, we are all exploring life and the world around us, and their is no posing pressure. It's perfect for this age group.

Thanks Mom and Dad for being so cool and laid back! I love the way we can see your carefree style in all of these images.

Three's Company

Coming from a family of all girls, you could say that I was excited to go to this session. Three sisters. Maybe it's just me, but it sounds lovely. This session was mostly about celebrating the sisters, but I was able to sneak in a few of the whole family and then mom and dad together as well. We were really trying for a summery look even though we are in full on Fall right now. The clothing choices by mom were impeccable and the insistence of bare feet also helped this session feel like it was the end of summer. Because the fall colors are so pretty, I did sneak in a few beautiful trees into the backgrounds here and there. I was all about the color on this day!

Despite canceling and rescheduling due to weather, I hope you think we were able to achieve "The Look" you were wanting. Enjoy your sneak peek!

They're One!

The Girls have turned ONE! Boy, are they as cute as ever. They came to visit me with their Birthday Dresses on. They have so much personality it's a crack-up. Even though one sister wasn't feeling too hot (poor baby), her sister had enough enthusiasm for the both of them. Along with some sweet pictures, I am adding some out takes for fun. They just make me laugh and melt my heart all at the same time. Happy Birthday, Girls! Your first year was such a blessing to me and all who know you. I pray your second year is just as blessed.

Wrapping Up 2008

I have one more session, my last session of 2008, to post before I start talking business again for the new year. This last session was too fun. It (the session) was a gift to the little girl for Christmas. Mom and dad wanted to give their girl a day to be a model, have multiple wardrobe changes, and basically have fun without having to share the attention with anyone. Well, she sure got her wish. At the beginning she was a bit shy, but once she warmed up, she worked it! Boy, she giggled almost the whole time she was with me. I even asked for a serious face a couple of times, but she couldn't stop giggling long enough to make one (I think I caught her off guard a couple of times and caught that serious look....I am a sucker for the serious). I sure had fun making you feel like a star, Miss O! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Sibling and Birthday Shoot

One of my most favorite clients came to visit me today! She visits me a few times a year, and I miss her so when she's been away for too long. The reason for today's visit? She's turning two and she brought her big sister with her. Big sister was such a great help with helping her to feel comfortable. We did some fun sibling portraits, and even brought in her favorite stuffed monkey for a few pictures. After that, we got her all dolled up in a cute dress and did her birthday portraits. She is such a cutie, I don't think she could take a bad picture if she tried!

Thanks for such a great session today! I had fun catching up with you and helping you celebrate the start of your second year. Also, thank you big sister for being such a BIG help :-) ! Enjoy your sneak peek:

Blue is One!

You might remember Mr. Blue Eyes from last year. I can't believe he's ONE now! He's just as cute as ever. He came to visit me and have a shoot to celebrate...OK he could've been here to celebrate Thanksgiving as well. A girl can dream though!

A CU Fan

These portraits were done during my Christmas special a few weeks back. They are a gift for their daddy who is a HUGE fan of CU. I thought they made some pretty cute sibling portraits as well. Thanks for such a fun time! I hope daddy loves them!

Sisters

I am loving sessions done in my in-home studio. They are so fun, clean, and simple. They seem to really be able to allow us to get true personalities to shine through. Especially, for older kids. These two sisters were very fun. The younger sister LOVES having her picture taken. At one point, I laughed out loud when she commented that she felt like she should, "Be getting paid for this." Her pictures were great, but this session was pro-bono. Maybe she has a knack for some future modeling? She really liked it when we pulled out the fans. I think the older sister did too...she seemed very comfortable. Regardless, this session was a blast! Thanks ladies!

More Fall Fun!

Do you remember these boys? Well, they're ONE! Happy Birthday! I was able to fool Mother Nature again this weekend with this combo 1st birthday/family session. It was threatening to rain on us and ruin our shoot, so we bumped up the time and narrowly escaped the rain! (Literally it started to rain as I left the parking lot). I am so glad we got to meet though, I had so much fun with these boys and their parents. Despite how cold it was, they were good sports. They smiled and had a good time. I have to admit, it was hard not to smile, the colors this weekend were B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! Just check them out!

Fall Family Fun

I was so happy to get to photograph this family. Believe it or not, I have been waiting to photograph them for over a year! When our schedules finally matched up it was the weather that would get us, or someone wasn't feeling well, or something funny would pop up last minute. The key this time was we planned it only days out, and we left a huge time window open just in case the weather tried to interfere. Good thing we did! Mother nature tried to ruin our party, but we outsmarted her by meeting 2 hours before our scheduled time. I am so glad we did! The lighting was beautiful, and there was just enough of a breeze that day to give the pictures some life.

Well, a breeze and some Cattails. Oh, Heavens, were there Cattails!

I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Look at that mischievous face!

You know what happened next, right?
